International Women's Day 2012
Each year on March 8, people worldwide celebrate the progress made to advance equality for women and girls. In 2012, Ontario celebrates International Women's Week from Sunday, March 4 to Saturday,
March 10.
The United Nations theme for 2012 is “Empower Rural Women – End Hunger and Poverty.” The Canadian theme, established by Status of Women Canada, is " Strong Women Strong Canada: Women in rural, remote and northern communities."
