Equality Rules Public Education Campaign

Equality RulesThe Equality Rules public education campaign aims to promote healthy, equal relationships and prevent violence from happening in the first place by promoting a change in attitudes among children and youth and the adults who influence them. This multi-faceted campaign includes a media component, web-based information, community pilots and school resources.

This $4.9 million campaign is a key component of the Ontario government’s Domestic Violence Action Plan.

On the EqualityRules.ca/Egal-Egale.ca website, youth aged 8-14 will learn the skills needed to develop healthy, equal relationships and to recognize behaviours and attitudes that can lead to violence against women and girls. The website also provides information on where to go for help.

A variety of teacher resources have been produced to support educators in helping our children understand the benefits of healthy, equal relationships. These teacher resources can also be accessed on the EqualityRules.ca/Egal-Egale.ca website.

The campaign is also providing funding to communities to create resources, hold workshops and stimulate youth to youth projects to promote healthy equal relationships.
