$172,846 to provide intensive leadership skills development training and mentorship to 21 young Aboriginal women in remote First Nations communities in Northwestern Ontario. Past and current Aboriginal women leaders, including chiefs and band councillors, are paired with young women to support their training and development. The leadership training is provided to young women through three leadership camps, and will incorporate traditional teachings. Also, a forum will be held to promote Aboriginal women’s leadership. |

$114,500 to work with 14 Aboriginal communities (8 First Nations and 6 urban communities), primarily located in Northeastern Ontario, in reaching out to Aboriginal women who are grandmothers and strengthening their leadership roles in their families and communities. Activities include:
