Provides grants to support community projects that benefit victims of violence.
Provides funding to non-profit organizations for programs to support the early and effective settlement of newcomers to Ontario.
The Language Interpreter Services program helps community organizations to develop and deliver spoken language interpreter services in communities across Ontario. These services are provided to victims of domestic violence who have limited English skills.
Provides funding for emergency shelter and related services provided by Violence Against Women shelters, counselling provided by community agencies, transitional support to help women connect with services and supports, early intervention for child witnesses of domestic violence, and a province-wide crisis helpline. This ministry is also a partner in the Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy which funds emergency shelter and related services to reduce family violence and improve health in Aboriginal communities.
Provides incentive and education grants to ministry-funded agencies in Northern Ontario to support the recruitment of social service professionals to full-time vacant positions in those agencies.
Provides project grants to assist communities in Northern Ontario to prevent and respond to violence against women and their children.
Provides funding to colleges and universities, as part of the government’s transfer payment support to these institutions, to promote women’s safety on campus. The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities' Literacy and Basic Skills program helps people whose literacy skills fall below the Grade 9 level.
Provides funding to organizations to deliver employment programs and training, and also provides businesses and community organizations with wage support to help create employment opportunities for target groups, such as youth and newcomers.
Provides grants to support public education and activities to prevent violence against women among Ontario’s Francophone population.
Provides grants for Ontario-based artists and arts organizations and awards, prizes and scholarships.
Provides funding for capital projects to develop facilities for Aboriginal community services and business activities.
Provides grants to build women’s health research capacity in Ontario
