May: Sexual Assault Prevention Month

May is Sexual Assault Prevention Month. Ontario recognizes this month is a time to raise awareness about the devastating impact of sexual assault and focus on the measures being taken to stop violence and support survivors.

The government has kept its commitment to monitor and update Ontarians on the progress of It’s Never Okay: Ontario’s Action Plan to Stop Sexual Violence and Harassment, and earlier this year released the 2016 Progress Report. Ontario also passed the Sexual Violence and Harassment Action Plan Act to help build a province where everyone is free from the threat of sexual violence and harassment, and strengthen support for survivors.
