Financial Services Connections

This three-week program will help over 350 internationally trained newcomers find employment in the Canadian financial industry by offering them courses in occupation-specific language, workplace culture and communications, technical skills, and exam preparation.

International Finance and Administration Professionals (IFAP)

This pilot project will provide internationally trained financial professionals with academic skills training, language and communications training, and Canadian work experience to become certified financial planners in Canada.

Centennial College

Financial Services ESL (FSESL)

This higher-level English as a second language program will assist 30 internationally trained individuals to get certified in financial services.

Training will help participants to prepare to write industry exams, such as the Certified Financial Planner, Ontario Life Insurance, and the Canadian Securities Examinations.

Bridge to Employment in Financial Services

The “Bridge to Employment in Financial Services” program is focused on four key industries in the Canadian financial sector: banking, insurance, trusts, and securities. The program components include:

  • Individual action plans
  • Customized courses in in occupation-specific language and cultural literacy
  • Mentoring, work placement and job search strategies specific to the Canadian financial sector
  • Support with completion of approved academic credits accepted by the industries
