For general volunteer opportunities, contact local service clubs, cultural groups, your place of worship, programs such as Meals on Wheels, or youth organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs, Scouts and Guides.
Does this count towards my community credits?
Your local volunteer centre will help you record these hours for your school.
How much time do I have to volunteer?
For the ChangeTheWorld Challenge, we're asking for 5 hours during National Volunteer Week.
Can I create my own volunteer project?
Connect with your nearest Volunteer Centre so that your project counts toward the Youth Challenge.
Can anybody volunteer?
Yes. Please note: volunteer agencies must screen everyone working with vulnerable persons, such as children
or seniors, or for other appropriate positions. Screening means conducting an interview, checking references,
or having a police records check done for people over 18 years of age.
Do I have to be 14 or older to volunteer?
No. There are opportunities for people of all ages to volunteer.
