I also give back in my community, in my church and any place my gifts can help other people be great. Volunteering keeps me healthy and passionate about my life and sport. Volunteers have been an important part of my life. Many of the coaches on the teams I played with when I was starting out in hockey were volunteers. I realize now the important role they play with young kids in communities. Teaching youth a sport like hockey helps them stay focused on positive things like discipline and being a team player. Playing with the Belleville Bulls, we do quite a bit of work with local charities. I see first-hand how important volunteers are to building good communities. I challenge all my peers and youth to get involved in volunteering. We are the future -- what we do now will shape our world in the future. - P K Subban
