Partnership Grant Program

Accessible Community Counselling and Employment Services (ACCES) – Central Region

Partnering organizations:

  • Jewish Vocational Service of Metropolitan Toronto
  • COSTI Immigrant services
  • Skills for change

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will work with the Consortium of Agencies Serving Internationally-trained Persons to develop and put in place a governance and leadership development model. This model will be shared with other agencies and organizations that deliver employment and training services to internationally trained job seekers and employers, and with the not-for-profit sector at large.

 

AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Canada – Province-wide

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will focus on education, training and networking for charities, fundraising professionals and donors to mobilize charitable and civic engagement initiatives from diverse communities such as newcomers, aboriginal peoples, women, youth and other communities.

 

The Association of Community Information Centres in Ontario – Province-wide

Up to $256,075 – Over three years

This project will build capacity among organizations that provide information and referral services to newcomers by developing online training courses and toolkits of best practices. Three modules and associated tool kits will be developed, one in each of the three years of the project.


Better Beginnings Better Futures – North Region

Partnering organizations:

  • Aboriginal Peoples Alliance of Northern Ontario

Up to $215,100 – Over three years

This project will engage communities and businesses in a collaborative partnership with a variety of public and not-for-profit organizations and groups in Greater Sudbury in order to initiate, develop and support creative and sustainable solutions to family and community issues.

 

Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network – Province-wide

Up to $282,035 – Over three years

This project will strengthen the skills, competencies and abilities of organizations to address human rights issues related to HIV/AIDS through the expansion of the Network’s web site with additional tools and resources, and by increasing collaboration among community-based advocacy and rights organizations focused on people living with HIV/AIDS.


Centre for Social Innovation – Province-wide

Up to $298,000 – Over three years

This project will enhance not-for-profit sector's capacity through workshops, mentoring and a new community of practice designed to help organizations understand and implement social innovation strategies so that they can increase their capacity and better respond to their changing communities.


Community Action Resource Centre - Central Region

Partnering organizations:

  • Ethiopian Association in the GTA and Surrounding Regions
  • South Asian Women's Centre
  • The Eritrean Canadian Community Centre

Up to $263,000 – Over three years

This project will establish a foundation for sustainability through strategic planning, board development, fundraising initiatives and a five-year resource development plan that will diversify each partner organization’s revenue sources and their capacity to fundraise.


Community Microskills Development Centre – Central Region

Partnering organizations:

  • The Centre for Skills Development & Training
  • On Track Career and Employment Services

Up to $298,137 – Over three years

This project will increase collaboration and provide tools and mechanisms for sharing knowledge, best practices, resources, and expertise among organizations that provide support to women's trades to increase women’s participation in the trades. This result will be a common voice for this sub-sector in Ontario giving it the opportunity to come together to address systemic barriers and challenges they face in carrying out their work.

 

For Youth Initiative – Central Region

Partnering organizations:

  • National Movement of Harmony in Canada
  • Foundation Learning Enrichment

Up to $232,074 – Over three years

This project will focus on training, teaching and mentoring to strengthen youth-led organizations across the GTA. The project will develop two education and support initiatives by engaging with networks of young professionals at United Way's GenNext program, TD Bank and CIBC Bank.


The George Cedric Metcalf Charitable Foundation – Province-wide

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will establish an independent not-for-profit sector public policy and research hub. The main focus will be to conduct independent applied policy research and analysis on structural, foundational and systemic issues facing the not-for-profit sector in Canada.


Hong Fook Mental Health Association – Central Region

Partnering organizations:

  • Vietnamese Women's Association of Toronto
  • Centre for Information & Community Services

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will provide multi-lingual volunteer training to so that organizations serving immigrants can build a greater understanding of immigrant health issues so that they can improve immigrant health outcomes.


Imagine Canada – Province-wide

Up to $295,037 – Over three years

This project will develop a one-stop bilingual website to help charities and non-profits find the information, resources, policies and training they need to operate more effectively, in five areas: governance, financial management, human resources, volunteer management and fundraising.


Immigrant Women Services Ottawa – East Region

Partnering organizations:

  • LASI World Skills Inc.
  • Somali Centre for Family Services

Up to $214,007 – Over three years

This project will use social media tools to strengthen the network and collaborative capacity of partnering organizations and improve responsiveness to clients, communities and stakeholders.


KCWA Family & Social Services – Central Region

Partnering organizations:

  • Korean Canadian Scholarship Foundation
  • Korean Canadian Cultural Association of Metropolitan Toronto

Up to $170,479 – Over two years

This project will encourage collaboration among multiple organizations in the Canadian Korean not-for-profit community through training workshops for executive directors and board members in the areas of governance, financial management, strategic planning, and risk management. These best practices and resources will be shared with other not-for-profit organizations across Ontario.

 

Le Phénix- Service d 'Intégration Sociale – East Region

Partnering organizations:

  • Observatoire sur la governance de l'Ontario français
  • Conseil de la Coopération de l'Ontario

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

The project will strengthen the francophone network representing agencies serving persons with disabilities. More than 200 francophone not-for-profit organizations will benefit from training in governance, technology and organizational development.

 

Mississauga Arts Council – Regional Network Organization – Central Region

Up to $59,100 – Over two years

This project will increase the organizational capacity of the Mississauga Arts Council to support the work of 200 not-for-profit arts and culture groups. Organizations will undertake a review of programs and services currently delivered to evaluate and enhance the quality and efficiency of programs to better meet the needs of the voluntary sector.

 

Ontario Association of Children Rehabilitation Services – Province-Wide

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will develop networks such as the Family Advisory Council and Clinical Services Network, to increase use of technology to promote effective communication and internal networking to advance an integrated system of services and supports for children, youth and families in Ontario.

 

Ontario Federation of Indian Friendship Centres – Province-Wide

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will develop approximately 15 pilot projects resulting in the establishment of best practices, training materials and policy recommendations to help promote sustainability for programs for Aboriginal people through the development of new revenue streams and community economic development.

 

Ontario Nonprofit Network – Province-wide

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will create and execute an engagement strategy, expand the use of web based tools, support sub-sector initiatives, and complete a sectoral map of the not-for-profit sector. The project will also establish a 'menu' of capacity strengthening strategies. These tools and best practices will be shared with other not-for-profit organizations in the province.

 

Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association – Province-Wide

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will design a program for strengthening the governance and operations of non-profit housing providers by providing training tools and resources for Boards of Directors of the social housing sector and staff of housing providers that have been identified by their municipal service managers as being "projects in difficulties."

 

Ontario Physical and Health Education Association (OPHEA) – Province-Wide

Partnering organizations:

  • Centre Canadien de leadership en evaluation Inc.

Up to $295,786 – Over three years

This collaborative partnership will build organizational and sector capacity to deliver comprehensive and integrated approaches to health promotion that meets the diverse needs of Ontario’s Francophone communities through outreach, engagement and partnership activities.

 

Ontario Volunteer Centre Network – Province-Wide

Up to $296,030 – Over three years

This project will build and strengthen the capacity of its 24 member volunteer centres across Ontario by improving member organizations’ technology capacities and establishing a central hub for the communication of information and the dissemination of resources and knowledge for its members.

 

Pillar Nonprofit Network – Province-wide

Up to $281,362 – Over three years

This project will strengthen the capacity of a range of community services such as: leadership and governance, sector restructuring, shared space, and program/service delivery. It will also build on the mutual strengths of partnering organizations for sharing expertise rather than duplicating efforts and resources.

 

Tamarack Institute for Community Engagement – Province-Wide

Up to $300,000 – Over three years

This project will establish three learning centres and develop two websites as platforms for interactive learning, capacity building and engagement around key issues such as collaboration, best-practices, policy change, evaluation and poverty change.


Tides Canada Capacity Waterloo Region – Regional Network Organization – West Region

Up to $258,000– Over three years

This project will work with community organizations and leaders to build capacity that supports social change. Initiatives include the creation, development and launch of innovation labs, development of case studies on social innovation & change, expanding the board governance program and leading social change forums & workshops.

 

Tucker House Renewal Centre – Regional Network Organization - East Region

Up to $260,000 – Over three years

This network will work with environmental groups across Eastern Ontario to increase the information, resources, policies and training they need to operate more effectively in five areas: financial management & fundraising; communication and outreach; governance; volunteer engagement; and risk management and legal issues.

 

United Way of Chatham Kent – West Region

Partnering organizations:

  • Rotary Club of Chatham Community
  • Futures Development Corporation
  • Kinsmen Club of Wallaceburg
  • Adult Language and Learning

Up to $281,081 – Over three years

This project will develop tools and create opportunities to engage, train and support young people, age 18 to 35, to serve as volunteers, on community boards and committees. This initiative will have far reaching impact among 23 communities in Chatham-Kent area and could be used in future as a tool/best practice for urban or rural communities that face out-migration.

Change the World: Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge

Change the World is a program aimed at getting students involved in volunteering in their communities.

Grant Program is currently closed

The Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) 

The Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) is a new initiative that will fund projects that engage Ontario’s immigrant/newcomer youth in their local communities and, in a broader sense, in Canadian society.

Newcomer Settlement Program

The province provides funding to a network of not-for-profit community agencies to deliver settlement services in communities across the province. These agencies help newcomers successfully settle, get fully involved in all aspects of life in Ontario and contribute to Canadian society. Organizations can apply for funding through a call for proposals process.

Ontario Bridge Training: Invitation for Proposals

The Ontario Government supports projects that improve access to licensure and/or employment for internationally trained individuals in regulated and non-regulated professions. Organizations can apply for grants that support these projects through a competitive Invitation for Proposal process. Potential applicants can go here to find applications and other reference materials from previous Invitations for Proposals.

Language Interpreter Services 
This program supports a network of not-for-profit community organizations to deliver spoken language interpretation services across Ontario. These services help victims of domestic violence who have limited English or French language skills get social, healthcare and legal services, including in the Domestic Violence Court System. Interpretation services are available in over 60 languages, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Infrastructure Ontario Loan Program

The Government of Ontario has expanded Infrastructure Ontario's Loan Program to include community health and social services hubs, aboriginal health access centres and non-profit sports and recreation organizations in Ontario.

Enabling Change

Through this program the Ministry of Community and Social Services provides up to 75 cents on the dollar for organizations to undertake projects that improve the accessibility of their facilities for people with disabilities.
