Ontario Helps Newcomers Get Jobs

McGuinty Government Invests in Skills Training And Expands Opportunities To Work

Ontario is helping 10,000 highly skilled newcomers get jobs that match their qualifications and experience.

The McGuinty government is investing $38 million in thirty-eight bridge training programs throughout the province. The programs help highly skilled newcomers get the credentials, practice and networks they need to get a license and work in their profession faster.

The 2009 provincial budget also included a $50 million investment, over two years, to further expand bridge training programs across the province. Investing in skills training programs helps create jobs and strengthen Ontario’s economy.
