The following Bridge Training programs can help internationally trained financial services professionals gain the knowledge, information and/or experience required to practice in their field in Ontario.

Bridge Training for Internationally Educated Professionals

The Bridge Training for Internationally Educated Professionals program helps internationally trained professionals with backgrounds in accounting, business, finance, management, marketing, public administration and information technology find employment in their field of expertise. The program provides training in Canadian business culture and communication, occupation-specific language training, and technical upgrading in participants’ area of professional focus. Participants also receive career coaching and opportunities to connect with employers through mentoring, networking and internships. Participants who complete the program can earn a certificate from York University.

College Immigrant Pathways - Financial Services Essentials

This program helps internationally trained financial services professionals find work in the banking, securities and insurance sectors. Participants are provided with technical skills upgrading, as well as occupation-specific and workplace cultural communications needed to excel in the financial sector.  Once participants finish the training portion of the project, they have access to a field placement.  Participants are also paired with a mentor, giving them the opportunity to connect with industry experts and potential employers.

Financial Services Connections

This program helps internationally trained finance and accounting professionals find commensurate employment in their field. The program provides participants with occupation-specific language, workplace culture and communication, technical skills, exam preparation, employment supports and employer engagement activities. The program’s academic component is offered in partnership with Seneca College.
