Remembrance Day is observed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month every year.
On this day, we pause to remember all of the brave men and women who have served in armed conflict, war and peace to ensure our safety and to make the world a better place.
Over 1.5 million Canadians served in the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. More than 110,000 gave their lives on the battlefield.
Many continue to put themselves in harm's way in the name of peace and democracy.
We owe them a great debt of gratitude.
On November 11, we honour all who served, and who continue to serve, by remembering their courage, valour and heroism.
